This modem/router is the best and fast. It doesn't loose connection and/or stop working. I used to have a motorola modem/router. It was a piece of junk, always lost connection which is not due to my internet provider. If I purchased this one in the first place, I would of saved $100. I've always had netgear in the past and was always satisfied with it. Last time, I wanted to try something else. Should of stayed with a trusted brand. Lesson Learned!!!!!!!!!

How does this router handle streaming video? Is it smooth or lots of buffering?

This modem/router can handle streaming smoothly. It has 5G connection capability. However, it depends on what speed your internet connection is as well. I have 50bps and have 3-4 electronic devices connected at the same time. This router can handle it.

Is this compatible with Verizon high speed internet, NOT fios? Fios is not available in our area so we had to go with high speed instead. We currently use this modem and would like to use it when we move into our new home. Thanks.

If it's cable internet then yes. If you need to connect a phone line to it then no. Meaning the Modem/router only has an AUX (The one that connects the cable to the TV) outlet.
