What's great about it: Picture quality
What's not so great: Should have at least one more HDMI, remote is finiky.
Already had a 32 inch LG LED for bedroom, love the picture quality. When 50 inch Sony failed after only 5 years I knew I would replace it an LG. More dependable, better picture quality. Sound quality is as good as any set, most of us have separate sound systems for this purpose. No internet capability and only 1 HDMI connection but acceptable for a set in this price range. Remote control is finicky, aim it straight and in front of the set and don't be surprised if you have to press a button more than once. I'm happy with the LG, price and picture quality.

Sound

Does this TV have an optical audio input?
No, but it does have an optical audio output, which is what you want. Output the TV sound to a surround sound system. Any device you have connected to the TV will play through the surround sound system without changing input options on your surround sound system. Optical in will not make your TV sound better.
