I purchased the ihome iw1 with the hopes of finding a good speaker that would make listentimg to my favorite music easier and pleasurable. The speaker worked...kinda. The advertised airplay function only worked for about ten minites at a time. After a short while of playing music it would just cut-off and i would have to restart the app, the speaker, and sometimes even the phone, in order to get it working again. Playing music only worked when connected via an aux cord (not included with the system) or when connected via a USB cable (the system includes one but its the 20 pin connector which only works with iphone 4s and earlier so it was useless for my iphone 6) the sound quality was decent. The system did lack bass but it was bearable. The soeaker is also advertised as portable, which it is, but it takes about 15 hours to charge for 5 hours of playback. I had the speaker for about a week before deciding to return it. Had i kept it i would have been settling for the speaker as i was not completley happy with it. I now have a UE Boom bluetooth speaker and i couldnt be happier.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Is it Bluetooth? I want to hook a speaker up to my TV via Bluetooth.

The ihome is NOT bluetooth. It uses apples airplay to play audio. If you plan on playing audio from your tv, you will not be able to do so unless you have Apple TV. I would recommend purchasing a bluetooth speaker such as the UE boom or UE Megaboom from logitech. I previously purchased the ihome iw1 and was extremely dissapointed with it. Airplay is very very botchy and cuts out alot.
