What's great about it: Excellent image and super thin bezel makes it great for dual monitors.
What's not so great: Really no complaints, but some may not like the reflective screen.
I bought two of these monitors to use in a dual monitor setup. I couldn't be happier with the image I get from them, especially given the affordable price!

This monitor blacks out here and there.

I just bought this monitor and love it but, for some reason, it will black out for a second a couple times a day. Any reason for that?
Without knowing more, the only guess I could come up with would be a result of power saving settings on your computer or potentially a faulty monitor or power supply. I would check your settings first before you decide to throw in the towel.

can this be used for security cameras

Yes it can, your camera system just needs to support an HDMI or DVI output or use software via a computer hooked up to the monitor.

Can monitor connect to laptop using a usb cord?

No it cannot.

How do I plug in my speaker to the Dell 23 inch monitor?

I took the clip-on speaker off my old monitor but I don't see how I plug-in the speaker on my new monitor?
There is no audio port on these monitors. You may however, be able to plug your old speakers directly into your PC's audio out jack.
