I have 2 other Belkin NetCams that are non HD but I liked them and never had too many problems disconnecting from my Wifi network The HD NetCam installed very easily and you don't need a computer to setup either The big difference between the HD NetCam and the other two I have is the Microphone. I mainly use the Cam to watch over my Dog while I am at work and I like to use the microphone to scare him. Great Camera for price

Can you converse with someone with the device via smartphone?

Looks like it has a speaker on the back? Can you actually hear and speak with this via smartphone?
Yes you can. The HD Cam has a mic for you to hear ambient noises and it also has a speaker on the back for anyone next to Camera to hear your voice. Works very well actually
