What's great about it: Price, performance it's all good
What's not so great: Could use at least a couple more usb ports, windows 8
My $450 3 year old HP screen died while on vacation, I went to BB and the geeks confirmed the HP was OK I just needed a monitor, The price of a decent monitor was $180 and for $249 out the door it made more sense to get the Asus.
About a year and a 1/2 ago I asked a tech at another store which laptops are returned with problems the most and least and she said she'd never had anyone bring in an Asus with a problem, HP and Lenovo were the ones with the most problems. I bought an Asus for one of my kids that are on the thing all the time and it's been flawless and I think I paid about $350.
So I hope this one works as good, my only complaint is windows 8 is a pain in the butt, I put a full version of office 13 on and deleted the windows 8 email program and go directly to the desktop whenever I use it but it's still annoying when navigating and the windows 8 bar gets in my way.
It's so fast that sometimes my poor typing skills and the sensitivity of the mouse pad mess me up but that's user error.
It would be nice if it had a lot more usb ports a mouse and keyboard uses them both up.
This product is... poor sound quality, A nice compact size, easy to set up, lightning fast, good deal for the money
About me... Budget Conscious, Basic web surfing & emails, Parent with kids, Business Professional, Comfortable with technology, do a lot of presentations

Cannot Open CD Drive

Is there a way to open the CD drive? It's just a plastic part on the right side of the laptop that doesn't have an eject button. Is it correctly advertised? Thanks!
hold it for 1 second and wait it will open, if not you have a bad one.
