I planned on buying a cheaper alternative online but waited until the last minute and had no choice but to buy one in the store. I am really glad that I did because I am really happy with the device and it does what it claims. If I needed to I can get my wi-fi connection about a 75 yards away. It sets up a completely separate connection and uses your original password. Love It!!!
I would recommend this to a friend!

I am looking to boost my cell phone signal in two homes. Can it be done for under $100 each and if so what product do you recommend?

I tried to see if my wi-fi signal would reach my in-laws about 60 or so yards away and it works. Set up device in the same room as the router ( WPS Setup) then plug device into the other house in the room closest to the original house. It worked fine for me and I am able to use it when I am visiting them.

Since the extender has an Ethernet port, can I just plug in the extender, then use an Ethernet cable from the extender to my Xbox or laptop? If not, what else would I need?

If I read the instructions correctly you can. Just use the WPS button to set up the device and it works out of any wall plug.
