HOW DO I SWITCH LINES

This is a two-line phone.BUT I don't see anything in the Manual that tells me how to switch to the other phone line.
1. How do I set the phone so that number xxx-1111 is always the primary line when I pick up the phone handset to make a call?
.2. Right now, if I lift the corded handset, I'm dialing from line number xxx-2222. I want to use the other line and make that the permanent default or primary line.

To switch, hit flash, the lower right key.
