What's great about it: Everything except Windows 8.1
What's not so great: Windows 8.1
Fast, great sound and picture. Wish I had gotten Windows 7 instead.

Is there any way to turn off the touchpad when having an external mouse connected via USB?

Why bother. It works fine with an external mouse with the touch pad on. Doesn't effect it.
