When my old tablet busted I wanted to find the most powerful Android tablet on the market. The Galaxy Tab has 4 of RAM, a solid quad core processor and an expandable memory slot for large collections of photos, videos or other content. While smaller than my last tablet the Galaxy Tab performs great, has good resolution and has been a powerful companian to me at home and on the road. One thing I do not like is the expandable card reader requires a release tool to open the microsd card caddy similar some smart phones. I would prefer you insert the card into the side of the tablet without having a memory card caddy but this is a minor issue to an amazing tablet

The router has a strong signal throughout my 1500 sq ft town home. It can load balance devices across multiple channels and I tested 3 devices streaming Netflix or YouTube for several hours with no skipping or latency. The web-based interface is easy to use and the router sports some advanced configurations for better administration control, advanced policies, etc. The router is large but it looks cool and will serve as a great home or small office router. One final thought, the web-interface is similar to WNDR or earlier model Netgear routers so if you owned a previous Netgear router this one will be easier to use as its configurations will look all too familiar.

can i turn off the wi-fi on the router if i do not use wi-fi?

Yes the Netgear router allows you to disable wireless usage when not needed and turn it on if wireless is needed for guests or other devices you might purchase in the future.

I am using My smart phone as a hotspot to 'run' my smart tv; I have received. 'insufficient bandwidth' - what device would I need to rectify ten problem? There is no router, no modem, just a tv & phone.

Hi Carol, unfortunately I do not believe there is a device to increase the bandwidth in your phone. If you decide to buy Interent service for your home, you will find Netgear routers are able to connect multiple devices at once and stream lots of content simultaneously. However, if you choose to stay with just wireless devices and no home Interent service; I believe adding a dedicated wireless hotspot to your existing phone plan and hooking your TV to that hotspot will probably give you the bandwidth you need. Your local Best Buy store has teams of individuals who can help you get a hotspot added to your phone plan or you can browse wifi hotspot devices on Best buy.com. I hope you make these bandwidth issues, non-issues quickly so you can get back to care free streaming Carol

I have weak internet service cause I live in a rural area. When I try to stream using my Amazon fire stick the picture is blurry and cuts off a lot. Will this product help solve the issue?

The Netgear RangeMax itself itself cannot speed up a slow Internet connection. However, the Netgear RangeMax can help you by regulating what devices can connect to your router and can often times regulate what Internet activities people can perform on your router. The more you restrict non-streaming Internet activity while you stream on your firestick, the more bandwidth available for your video to play without skipping or other issues. Good luck in improving your streaming performance.

I have weak internet speed while using live stream through my amazon Firestick. Is their anything that I can do to get a better speed?

Using Internet enabled applications through a firestick may in fact be Internet related or it might be the firestick does not have enough CPU or memory to run the apps it is running, which might be addressed by uninstalling or disabling unnecessary apps to ensure the apps used frequently run faster. To answer your question, a multi-band router can help your firestick run better by putting different devices on different wifi bands for example; laptops and other faster devices go on a 5G band while your firestick stays on it's own band. Good luck at getting these performance issues ironed out sometimes troubleshooting can be a pain.

Do i need an actual PC or Mac to set this router up or can i use the App on my phone?

I tested this out on my Netgear just for you and the web interface seems to respond great to the chrome browser on my Android smart phone. I would with a lot of confidence you can setup this router from your phone.

Will does work with my two pc's in the game room. We just need it for ethernet cables, don't really care about the Wi-Fi.

Absolutely, this router will work as a wired router plus provide wireless capabilities in case you need add devices like network-enabled cameras, Chromecast, or other tech gadgets to your gaming network. Not to mention wireless might come in handy for LAN parties if you invite friends to play also.

Will this router work with Service Electric Broadband Cable company in New Jersey?

Yes Internet service providers do in fact work with routers like the Netgear Nighthawk. What you will find with cable companies is that you will need to buy a cable modem on top of this router so you can plug the cable wire into the cable modem and plug Netgear Nighthawk into the cable modem also. A simple diagram for your reference:

Cable wire from wall > Cable Modem > Netgear Nighthawk router

> Means plugged into

Will this work with cox cable

This router absolutely works with Cox. You will need to buy a cable modem and plug this router into the cable modem for a complete setup however I have tested myself with Cox and it works great. A simple diagram for your reference:

Cable (Coax) Wire from wall > Cable Modem > Netgear Nighthawk router

> Means implies, "Plugged into"
