I bought this for my mother in to increase the sound range of a Samsung 40-inch LCD that is probably... 10 years old? Not even? In my experience almost every Samsung has terrible sound when it comes to a TV but hooking this up literally made no difference. Bose used to have a good name, I have a very expensive 2016 Infiniti QX-70S that also has Bose speakers...guess I should have known as I'm not that impressed with them (or Infiniti anymore for that matter - double review!) either.
Endpoint - especially for the ridiculous price do not buy! I have the Vizio SB3821-C6 38-Inch 2.1 Channel Sound Bar with Wireless Subwoofer connected to a much newer Samsung 55in and literally bug out that someone is in my house because the sound is so "large", realistic, and incredible.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Should be a better explanation on the packaging for this type of product it's micro USB to USB-3... Perhaps I am not educated enough on these products but I thought I would be able to use the micro USB out from my cell phone extra battery pack and charge to my new Samsung Galaxy S8 Plus. This is not the case I assume this is for data transfer only from a micro USB phone like a Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge (as I had previously) to a Samsung Galaxy S8 Plus. I would have returned it had I remember to do so now I have an extra cord and that does nothing for me.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I bought this with great excitement as I found it on sale at Best Buy and I also had a $70 gift card which made it really really cheap. Unfortunately I didn't read the reviews and didn't realize about the first generation... It often responds if one of the phones has it Bluetooth on even inside the house upstairs which it says it will not do. It also took quite a bit of work to install as opposed to their claim that it's really easy. Could be better... I guess I'm kind of satisfied?

What generation is this and How do I tell the difference in the two generations?

I had the same question I think it's very misleading and that they make it so difficult to figure out which generation it is. It is the first generation and all the reviews I've read say the second generation is better. It's okay as I said in my review but I would go for the second generation at least if you're playing to buy this.
