Such a strange world we live in -- I spent $20 on this paper card thing, and there was a cryptic code hidden on the back. I tried entering it into all sorts of electronic devices, until it finally worked on my Nintendo 3DS... and it gave me exactly $20!

If you like Musou games or Dragon Quest in general, there's a lot to like here. Akira Toriyama's classic artstyle, great soundtrack, charming dialogue, very familiar Musou gameplay with some unique changes (minor MMO-like implementation.) As is the case with Musou-like games, the story is just kind of there for the ride -- this is purely an action RPG, don't expect a compelling story! Just fun beat-em-up gameplay with Dragon Quest flair. Runs great, but turns my launch model PS4's cooling fans into an airplane.

Isabelle's second amiibo is as nice as the first one. The simple curves and lines of Animal Crossing characters lend themselves to the manufacturing process when it comes to making amiibo, so the figures really look as if they've come to life outside of the Animal Crossing games.

It's great, it's cute, it's more of what was so awesome about the last Kirby 3DS entry, Kirby Triple Deluxe. The robobot gameplay portions play great, and are arguably more fun of a platforming experience than just the pink fluff alone. The game is pretty short -- I beat it in about 9 hours -- but there is plenty more to do after beating the main game, as is the case with most Kirby games. Great for Kirby fans, especially if you enjoyed Triple Deluxe.

Was looking to replace my 10-year-old Netgear router with something a bit more modern (e.g. 5GHz band and MU-MIMO support) so I stuck with the brand. So far, so good. Setup is simple for anyone thanks to the included documentation, and encourages general security. Support from Netgear is good in the form of regular firmware updates; the latest one fixing the one quirk I ran into in which our household's Apple devices would lose their wifi connection during sleep. It is quiet and power-efficient -- two things you actually had to consider when buying a router 10 years ago. Range is pretty great; I still maintain a solid wifi connection in the parking lot of my apartment complex (at least 75 feet away.) There's even a smartphone app ("Netgear Genie") that emulates the router's frontend you can normally access with a computer by its IP address -- handy if you don't have a desktop or laptop handy, although it's not as full-featured (useful for resetting the router and monitoring bandwidth usage by device, but not a whole lot else.) The only complaints I can leverage against it is its rather large footprint (It is wall-mountable if you desire) and very bright indicator lights, of which there are enough to light up a dark room. All except the power light can be disabled with an on/off switch, so this isn't much of a problem.

Very fun, and decently balanced for a new Blizzard IP (but by no means perfect.) Runs great at an almost perfect 60FPS 98% of the time. Controls feel pretty good, but as console shooters go, I do prefer the behavior of Destiny (especially the sorely missed iron sights.) Overall, a great game which very well may enjoy years of life given Blizzard's track record of supporting their games.

However, the gameplay didn't age entirely well, and I'd caution anyone but the most diehard Nathan Drake fan not to splurge on all three games in too quick succession, unless you want to risk burning yourself out!

My cashier's name happened to also be Destiny, which made for some light mutual chuckling and joking. This is a 12-month membership card, which is also one year. Somehow, "a year" sounds like a longer period of time than "12 months" does. They should consider rebranding this product.

To review just Fire Emblem Fates Birthright, I'd give it 3.5 out of 5 stars. It builds upon the Fire Emblem Awakening gameplay with a handful of balance tweaks and a couple of new abilities, such as Dragon Veins, which allow certain characters to permanently alter areas of any given map in real time. While the writing is characteristically good for a Fire Emblem game, the story fails to maintain any real interest, and is flat out cringeworthy at times. Thankfully, the strategic gameplay is as solid as ever, and doesn't detract from the game all that much. Those looking first and foremost for a rich story in an RPG won't find it here.
Fire Emblem Fates Conquest brings with it a different approach to the same conflict presented in Birthright, with a marginally better story/plot, and trickier gameplay. Enemy units are more often outfitted with skills that will trip you up if you aren't mindful, and some map objectives present a higher difficulty than that found in Birthright.
Fire Emblem Fates Revelation serves as the ultimate version of the branched storyline in Fire Emblem Fates, bringing both games' casts and gameplay together to bring the story to a full and proper conclusion. I've yet to beat Revelation, but so far it is shaping up to give Conquest (my favorite) a run for its money.
For those looking for a no-frills Fire Emblem game out of Fates, I'd recommend starting with Birthright. For those who are already familiar with Fire Emblem and/or want a challenge, start with Conquest. The music is absolutely excellent in all three games, and the gameplay is generally solid. Overall, I'd give Fire Emblem Fates in its entirety 4.5 out of 5 stars.
