Not the best choice for a 6 year-old as he wants to peel up the silicone wrap. Great cover for almost anyone. I like the construction and the way it snaps together. Cover and wrap remove easily, but the main protection snaps around the device... Good but hard to remove.
I would recommend this to a friend!

What's great about it: Many features
What's not so great: Hard to make a decision with so many cameras (Canon), battery life is an issue.
This is a Fantastic camera. The digic processor is amazing coming from an older Rebel XTi. This was great for indoor basketball pictures. Recommendation is to buy the IS lenses with the quieter EFS lenses.

It is a strong light-weight plastic. It feels solid. Not too light, but feels good. Rubber grips on body and lenses.
