The Fire Stick with Voice Remote is pretty neat. To watch on the screen when it takes your voice input. This remote for this unit seems better built than the TV Stick without voice. Maybe just the unit I got, but I liked this remote better.
What Amazon has done for this stick is amazing. What is even more is the ability to add Kodi to this stick. That opens up a whole new world of movies etc.

Always liked Nokia in the days before the smart phone. This one is also great. Love the HERE map app. Plan on using this in offline mode. Was able to unlock it by asking ATT. Got a response in 4 hours.

No. If one person logs in, the other will be blocked, or you can disconnect them.

is a chrome cast or Roku required to get the connection at the second location?
Looking at purchasing the 500 to be located in the states and streaming to Germany. is a Chromecast or Ruko or other streaming device required at the Germany location to acces the streaming? Due to the time difference can programs be recorded on a DVR in the US for viewing later and if so will watching those interfere with the person watching TV in the US?
I am doing this for a friend. He has DISH Satellite Cable TV service in the US (at my house) with a DVR. You can control the Dish DVR with an app on the iPhone or Tablet and also watch it on Tablet/Computer. Dish has an arrangement with Sling box to do this. I connect the DVR to Internet via Ethernet. The programs to be recorded on DVR is also selected by the App. Viewing on PC does not work as well. At least on the Dish DVR you can watch one channel in Germany, and the local person can watch another program. With the 500 only one viewer can watch. Either remote or local. Both watch the same program.
The 500 does not have a DVR. So you will need to connect it to a Cable company DVR. And programming the DVR via this remote is not so easy. You cant use Chromecast or Roku to watch the 500 stream. To do that you go to a sling website and login and watch. Hope this helps.

Which streaming device is best?
What works best with the 500 model the Ruko or the Chromecast? Which model of these as I see lots of different models? What is really needed to stream just the basic connector or plug in? Is it necessary to get the additional accessories to use the Sling box 500?
The Roku as you need to connect the output to the 500. But does the Roku have HDMI only output, and can the 500 take a HDMI input? Also the 500 has a remote controller that changes channels on a Cable box. Can that remote control a Roku? That would be important. Chromecast cannot be controlled by a remote except a smart phone or tablet. I hope that makes sense.

Will the Amazon Fire Stick with Voice Remote work in conjunction with an existing Roku device? Or are the two devices one too many?
It may be one too many. Fire Stick lets you watch Amazon Prime, which Roku may also.

Firestick with soundbar
I have a Panasonic sound bar connected to my Sharp TV (optical audio cable) which i use watching TV. With the Firestick, I don't have any sound from the sound bar and have to use the TV speakers. Ugg. Any way of getting my sound bar to work with the Firestick? Thanks for any help.
That is an interesting problem. Can you check the TV settings? Maybe somehow the Firestick is changing where the sound is going, but you may be able to change it back with the TV remove and Settings

Will it work with a insignia 39" 6 month old tv? Do we need prime?
we have a insignia brand tv that we bought about 6months ago. its not a smart tv, just a tv. will it work ok with our tv? we have HDMI and stuff. and do you have to have amazon prime to use this?
No you don't need Amazon Prime to use this stick on any TV. You can get music (Pandora for free), subscribe to Netflix and watch. The beauty of this device is that you can connect your TV to the Internet via a WiFi router for Internet Access, and watch YouTube for instance.
