The Dual Bay docking station works great for up to 2 hard drives at once.
The only limitation is that you cannot boot off of these drives because the OS cannot figure out which drive is which. Other than that, it is great.
I would recommend this to a friend!

I have a 10 year old drive from a MacBook and the connections don't fit.

The older drives are ATA, not SATA.

The SATA connectors plug onto a slot and the ATA drives
plug into pins. The drives with pins will not work.

Will this work for older desktop drives AND newer laptop drives?

I have an old Gateway desktop that the power unit went out on. I also have an HP desktop and Compaq laptop. I want to make sure this product will work with the desktop drive and two laptop drives (obviously, not at the same time).

The SATA specification is backwards compatible.

I have tried one drive which is about 2 years old. It works.

I am expecting this to work.

Storage capacity says 2tb

is that 2 tb per drive or total, just installed a msata ssd and sata III ssd would like to use this for old hdd's of 1tb + 2tb = 3tb total
That is 2TB per drive. I put 2 2TB drives in the enclosure and
it worked fine.

Can't get my old ATA desktop drive to connect

Hello! I have an old Maxtor DiamondMax Plus 9 160GB ATA/133 HDD drive. I've tried putting it into this device, but I don't believe it's compatible, as it doesn't seem to fit. Any tips?
This is for SATA drives only. ATA drives will not fit into the connectors.

There are converters to convert ATA to SATA drives if you need this.

Then you could use this device for ATA drives.
