Yes this watch can have a separate phone line for an extra $10 a month, and it can be linked to your regular phone by call forwarding. Make sure it is not just the Bluetooth watch though because there are 2 different types of that watch.

Can you tether a tablet to it using your data

You can tether it if you don't have unlimited data. If you have unlimited data you can not use tethering or Hotspots those options are blocked.

does the are around vent in handle get hot?

I read that there are vents in the oven handle and wondered if it gets hot. I don't want to be burned or have my daughter reach for it and be burned. I did see the oven door doesn't get hot but wondering about the handle area.
Yes there are vents but the main oven vent is under the digital display so the handle stays cool to the touch.
