Could I stack my old Duet Sport Dryer on top of this?
The washer is dying, but the dryer does not need to be replaced.
I had the same situation - GE stackable w/d set and the washer went but the dryer is fine. after shopping for a new stackable set without luck primarily b/c of space limitations, I opted to replace the washer only and detach the dryer from the old set and keep using it. I had to do some custom work to stack/attach the old dryer to the new washer. You need to keep the brackets and hardware that attached your old stacking w/d and figure out how to use them to attach your old dryer to the new washer without damaging either. Yours will be unique to your old dryer, but it can be done. You have to have be mechanically inclined and likely will need to be creative (think MacGyver). Good luck.
