We have a 2 story, 2 bedroom townhouse and this router works perfectly fine. There's no bad spot anywhere in the house and I haven't experienced any drops in connection. Also, setup is easy and the interface is user friendly. My only complaint is that its network map (on the app and router login) does not always show every single connected device. As far as performance and ease of use though, I'd give this two thumbs up!

If I understand your question correctly, I think you are asking whether you can use this router for both local connection and still have wifi at the same time, am I right? If so then yes. What you need is an ethernet cable to connect the router to your modem. Then you need another ethernet cable to connect your router to the laptop/computer. If you have already set up your wifi, it will still function. Your locally connected computer will enjoy faster internet speed, while other devices connected to the wifi will be a little slower.
