The control pad is a slippery flat digital pad with a stainless steel finish. It's easy to clean but your finger has to search for the buttons, so to speak. You also have to angle your head just right to see them, due to the reflective stainless steel finish. The oven beeps loudly FIVE TIMES when it gets to temperature-- no way to shut this off.
Other than that, this is a great machine.
I would recommend this to a friend!

What does it say on the control panel?

I like Samsung stoves, but I don't want a stove with the words "chicken nuggets" or " pizza" on it.
It only says "pizza nuggets". Not really. The control panel says all the usual mundane oven and timer stuff.

How is the heat from the oven vented - to the outside?

Vents through the back of the stovetop. Don't leave anything susceptible to heat on top of the stove.
