I have multi-TB data storage requirements. I now have two of these drives running on my PC to help meet those requirements. As my needs expand, I will likely purchase another one. They never let me down!

What's great about it: Fast USB 3.0
What's not so great: Doesn't work well as a media server
I am using the drive as a media server, which is not what it was designed for. I've had issues with files being lost or moved, directories disappearing, etc. It seems to be related to an issue with the file allocation table that formatting doesn't remediate..
This product has... Fast, Large capacity/good size
About me... Technology guru, Work with large multimedia files
I would recommend this to a friend!

Hooking up to a wireless routing?
Has anyone hooked up one of these to a wireless router? I would like to do this as a alternative to the wife storing all her photos on her laptop since she has already used up the entire 125 Gig storage.
Yes. I have it connected to a Netgear wireless router via the router's USB 3.0 port. Netgear lets me place the drive out on the network as a stand-alone device. I am using it as a media server, storing 3.5 TB worth of video and audio media. I can access the drive from any PC in the house, including 3 laptops via wi-fi.

Does WD stand for Western Digital. AC powered Hard Drives are faster than just USB?
WD stands for Western Digital.
As far as data transfer rates, the speed of a hard drive is not determined by the power source. It is the speed of the USB connection that is the limiting factor, plus the technology used for data storage. A flash USB drive will have a different data rate than an external USB hard drive powered by AC, but the difference is in how the data is stored, not how the device is powered.
