I originally found out about KXM from a great friend of mine. I immediately sought out their music on youtube. Just as soon as I heard the first few notes, I ordered every KXM thing Best Buy offered. They are all pros and I swear dug and Ray are pulling the best playing/tone/phrasing/writing Lynch has done in years (yes, I love Dokken and Lynch Mob, too).

I don't know (yet, I'm sure there's a youtube video of sorts that explains it) how these gents decided to get together, but I sure am thrilled they are! As a long time fan of Lynch since hisDokken days, same of dug's voice/bass with King's X, and Ray is just a monster of a tasteful expert skins man, what's there not to like? An easy buy for any fan, and killer tunes enclosed, of course.

Watching a Head/Munkey interview on some random youtube video, they said this was one of their favorite records. I think Head said it was the most musically involved records that KoRn has done to date. Anyway, as a big fan of Ray L., I figured it would pick it up. I am enjoying what I have heard so far. I say "so far" because it takes me a few months to process songs/parts/mechanics when it comes to songs. For example, some songs I may not like initially end up among my favorites. Anyway, this is a real treat to any KoRn fan.

I think a youtube suggestion brought me to one of the tracks on this album. My primary interest is George Lynch and his involvement in another project (no pun intended). Glad to see GL trying different styles/experiences. Anyway, I liked the energy and sound of the track and ordered this from BB. I think the disc will continue to grow on me the more I listen.

Eliminator was my first introduction to ZZ Top and buy. While rich in production in comparison, it is the same talent that has lasted and served the Texas blues rock trio all these years.
As I get older, I find myself drawn to artists' earlier works and explore the raw talents that started it all. Fandango is a classic.

My first SlipKnot purchase. Saw them at several Ozzfests years ago - very impressive! I have been a fan from a distance for many years. Just a bit too much of something for me to commit.
Absolutely nothing wrong with the band per se. I would like to think I can appreciate any artist in any genre; though, some resonate with me more than others. With SlipKnot, I was on the fence.
Then, thanks to a youtube mix, I was randomly provided with the video for "Before I Forget". That's it - I was committed! I love the video concept as well as the heavy groove.
Anyway, I was thrilled to see this best-of compilation at Best Buy - so I picked it up. This album is probably optional for SlipKnot super fans who likely own all the songs from the original albums already, but nonetheless convenient for folks to get taste of SlipKnot in a single purchase.

If you are a Nickelback fan, then this is for you. Typical Chad R. pop rock formula. I avoided NB for awhile since I'm not a fan of what Mutt Lange did to NB a few albums back - lost the rawness that I liked with their earlier stuff.
Anyway, it's all good but Chad has to take a break from same old tired formula even if they are Mutt-free; hence, the 3 stars. Title track riff is sweet!

Wow, I am old. I came across new live KIX footage on youtube. From the subsequent recommended vids, I realized they had a "new" album. I had no idea I was missing out. I immediately bought it from Best Buy.
Of many of the old 80's bands, these guys are of the few that are still very tight with their act together. And, I am pleased to say, Steve Whiteman still sounds amazing!
This CD is KIX all the way. If you are fan, just buy it! You can sample it on youtube and you will see what I mean.

Youtube's recommended vids introduced this band to me. I was familiar with Doug from the "Still of the Night" Whitesnake DVD. Once I realized the band included Jack Blades and Deen J. Castronovo, I immediately bought this CD at Best Buy.
