This is a very good extender & I purchased primarily because I had owned a Netgear previously but it would only extend 2.4 and this is the one the sales rep recommended for what I need.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Will this item be compatible with a Gateway device on a Honeywell Prestige thermostat. Home uses a Verizon mobile hot spot device as its router.

We have installed a WIFI thermostat for this customer. Customer does not have a router, but since they are in a rural area, they use a Verizon mobile hot spot device. I just want to make sure this range extender will link with the Gateway and thermostat.
Honeywell's detail info about this thermostat should tel you that. I have Ecobee & theirs does.

How can I use it with my hotspot? I do have unlimited hot spot.

Works well with MiFi6620L. Just push WPS on both & they connect and it extends. Verizon has those on sale till 9/14/17 I think.
