I haven't used joysticks since back when all they had was a stick and one orange firing button. It's as fun as I remember. This one does what it's supposed to and I was able to customize the controller buttons on the base in my game. I will say, however, that the grip and the base were bigger than I expected. It looks like most joysticks these days are about this size, but If my hand were any smaller, it would be difficult to be on both the thumb trigger and the pointer-finger trigger at the same time. It's fine for me but I don't know if a young kid would be able to use it. The base is big for good stability, but it would still be stable if it were a little smaller.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Is it compatible with MacBook, using Yosemite 10.10.3?

It blows my mind that this isn't clearly labeled, either way! Virtually impossible to find an answer - just have to buy it and see; return if it doesn't.
If you have a USB port, it should be compatible.

trouble pairing

Cannot get my Extreme 3D Pro joystick paired with Microsoft flight simulator 2000 on my HP computer, with windows 7. Any help out there?
I use mine for the same game--Microsoft Flight Simulator X on my laptop. Unless 2000 and X are that different, there should be controller options in the settings for things like calibrating and assigning buttons for certain tasks (button 8 to "raise flaps," etc.). You should be able to "test" the joystick in calibration before you go into a flight.

will this work on World of tanks?

is it programmable to mouse and keyboard functions
I think it depends on the game. It has 11 buttons besides the trigger, and I was able to set it up in the "controller options" for Flight Simulator so that I didn't need the keyboard most of the time. There are occasionally still some functions I need the keyboard for because of how many things you have to do in that game. With Star Wars: X-Wing Alliance, though, the only controller option is to calibrate the joystick--the only controls I use on the stick besides the trigger are the throttle and the button on top for looking around the cockpit. Maybe because it's an older game.
