I'm using a pair of these in a bedroom as stereo and TV speakers. The sound is crisp. For my purpose they provide plenty of output power. The only draw back for me is that even in a small room I need to add a sub-woofer which was unexpected.
I would recommend this to a friend!

can these speakers be hooked-up to a tv
These speakers do not have wires. So depending on your TV's speaker input type ( RCA ? ) you could simply buy wires with the appropriate end type and cut one end off ( make sure you do this prior to plugging them into anything) , strip a little of each wire and stick the bare wire into the ports on the back of each speaker. Don't be worried about compromising the sound by using a stripped piece of wire on one end as high end speakers all come with this type of connection.
