Insane color! This version is an improvement upon the gen 2 bulbs. The main difference is in in the greens, cyan, and blues which were somewhat anemic in the gen 1 and 2.

I have a total of seven of these bulbs now, in addition to 12 gen 2, and 2 gen 3 color bulbs. I use the white bulbs in places where it wouldn't make sense to put color, like in ceiling globes and bathroom lights. They are an excellent value, and they dim really well. However, at lower levels, the light kind of looks gray. But I would still recommend them for places where you don't really need color, but still want smart lighting connected to your system.

I got into Hue about a year and a half ago after watching some videos on YouTube. This was one of the devices featured. I bought one for the bathroom. It works well, and I like it, but it should really sell for about $30 not $60, considering it's pretty much a stripped down version of one of the bulbs. If you run dynamic scenes, it will flicker. It can't transition very well. However, it's really good for low light effects, when you don't really want to put an 800 lumen bulb in a space and the Hue Strips won't work either. I would recommend this, but with a caveat.

I've been buying Logitech products for nearly 20 years. They make a great product. I've had several versions of this product. The 700 is the only one that lasted past the first month. The 650 seems to have a product line defect that causes it to go schizophrenic at about the 90 day mark. I love my remote, but buy the Geek Squad Protection!
