 Amazon - Echo (1st generation) - Black
Amazon - Echo (1st generation) - Black
Control your life with the Amazon Echo. It started with a music player that could play anything from Prime Music to Spotify and Pandora, and it gives you hands-free convenience, yet it can now control lights, switches and thermostat and answer questions thanks to advanced voice recognition. Use the Amazon Echo to order an Uber or even pizza from Domino's.

Not quite as accurate as the commercials imply, but good for music and "parlor" tricks like asking sillly questions.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Logitech - Harmony Smart Control (Remote Control and Smart Hub) - Black
Logitech - Harmony Smart Control (Remote Control and Smart Hub) - Black
This Logitech Harmony 915-000194 smart control lets you use your compatible Apple® iPhone®, iPod® touch or iPad® or Android device to control up to 8 components for simple, multifunction use.

Are you limited in the app on how many devices can be programmed. I don't plan to use the remote, I want to use this with Amazon Echo instead. Seams like it should have unlimited if you don't have to worry about how many programmable remote buttons.

The Harmony Hub only allows 8 entertainment devices per hub, but also allows you to add home devices such as Hue LIghts. I only use the Amazon echo to control my hub. And of course, the echo can control those home devices like hue lights directly anyway.

I bought a second hub for my other TV. One limitation I found is that the Amazon Echo only supports one hub at a time. There are workarounds though (like assign one hub to one echo/amazon account and another hub to another amazon echo account). Or using IFTTT instead. IFTTT though has a much longer latency though so when you ask IFTT to trigger your second hub it takes a noticable amount of extra time.
