Replaced $10-per month xfinity modem with this one. Its almost identical to the xfinity one, although WiFi signal seems a little weaker. Covers house OK tho so I'm fine with it.

I have Sonos all over my house, and do many sonos installs. Their surround setup is great, but pricey at $1900. Their pricing is peculiar, the Sonos connect ($350) is $150 more than the play 1 ($199), has the same features as the play 1, but it's only a preamp with no speaker, yet priced $150 more than the play 1. However, to test and enjoy the features of Sonos, start with this play 1. Great anywhere in the house., and you can merge zones to play the same music everywhere. Theses some other manufacturers trying to play catch up with Sonos, but they're not there yet.

I am not an Applehead so I do not recommend this because it's sold by apple. I do lots of wi-fi installs, these units seem to just work so much better than the Netgear & Linkys units. Packed with antennas, easy to setup, and better, stronger signal. The other plus is its easy to add an express to extend range in larger houses. Costs a few bucks more, but It's well worth the price. Highly recommended.

Samsung is making some pretty good panels, and this 24" is great for kitchen, study, or a small office. I would have given it a 5 rating but honestly, it's very light and feels rather cheaply built IMHO. Nice picture tho, and decent price. Itll work as a computer monitor, but I didn't test that function. Good value.

What's great about it: OEM Apple, good charger
What's not so great: Pricey
Good replacement charger. If my wife hadn't sucked the end of the wire into the vacuum cleaner, and ripped the jack off the end. I would have saved 80 bucks, and you never would have seen this review.

just bought a 42 in sharp 1080 flat screen tv. friend wants to sell me a 2 year old sony sound bar.2.1 with sub woffer will it hook up to my tv
It should, the Sony should have an optical out connection, and I'm sure the sharp does.

does anyone know how sonos compares to the Harmon Kardon Onix2 on sound quality and versatility?
HK is still paying catch-up with Sonos. Go Sonos, App is much better.

Is there an existing wall mounting bracket recommended for Sonos Play 1? Where can I buy one?
Theres some aftermarket brackets, kind of expensive, (nothing less than $20) but I just bought a section of 1/4"-20 threaded rod, anchored it to the wall, then screwed the Play 1 to it. Worked great, and you can bend the threaded rod to any angle you want. Does the base have a battery backup for power outtages?
Have phone through cable provider and battery backup on modem. If power fails and phone modem is still working, will the phones work or will they stop working because base needs electrical power.

Does the base piece need to plug into a wall jack?
It says cordless base unit. How does the unit attach to a phone line?
Cordless base unit means the phone in the base is also cordless. base gets the phone wire to the wall, and power cube into wall outlet

Do all phones have to be connected to a phone jack, or just the base?
Just the base. The other phones are only charging bases, and can be put anywhere.

Does phone plug in outlet in wall or is chordless mean you can put them anywhere in home
Each phone has a seperate charging base that needs to be plugged into the wall.

Westell Modem 7500
Want to replace the Westel 7500 modem. This modem is a router and WiFi, do I replace with two items? If so what?
You can defeat the wifi on the on the westel, the Airport extreme will detect the westel as a router, and turn the AE router functions off, keeping just the wi-fi. Youll find those options during setup using Airport utility.

Which router would I need to get if I have 4 cable boxes, 4 cell phones 4 tablets & recently had solar units installed?
The Airport extreme IS a router. I have 4 wifi laptops, ipads, phones, liftmaster garage door, nest thermostats, 4 sonos units, prpbably 20 devices living off of the airport extreme. None, or rare issues.
