For the price and a quick extension this is perfect. However if you subscribe to of get anything above 15 Mbps and or use a dual band router, get yourself a dual band extender with ac technology.

What's great about it: Easy to use, works seamlessly with apple products

What's not so great: There aren't as many apps as the competitors

Apple TV is fantastic. It gives a crisp picture and airplay works fantastic. However, apple needs to let in applications such as VUDU and make their movies and content Ultra violet etc. they unfortunately never will because they want full control and have no room for any competition. It is also double the money of similar products. That extra money does allow you to do extra things, but only within the apple ecosystem. If you have apple everything, you'll love it! If you have nothing with apple, get a rocu or something else

Looks nice, works nice, but too much money for this product. If you have apple products, this is a good router to get. The AC is useless unles you have a product with a AC card

I visit my mother who does not have Internet and need to extend the signal from my brothers house next door which is maybe 100 yards to 150 yards is there an extender to do that and if so would I put it in his home or my mothers?

But a high end ac router for his house. Buy a high end wifi extender for moms and configure them together and you'll be golden

WiFi extender

My router is on the roof of a shop about 100 metres from our boat. On my nexus7 tablet I get about 1mps and on the laptop using a rocket antenna about 5mps. Can you tell me if you make a range extender we could use on the boat at this range that would boost the signal and give us more MPs to watch YouTube and videos on the net. We are in France and are using SFR as our internet provider. Cheers Pete

Yes. What speeds do you get from that Internet wirelessly in the same room? Divide that in half and that's most likely what you'll have for streaming with the wifi extender. Definitely recommended for better wifi at a distance. Check to see if the current router is dual band though. If it is, buy a dual and wifi extender

will this work for my situation?

Our router is downstairs on the other end of a 2000 sq ft house. My All-in-One computer is upstairs in bedroom at opposite end of house. Mediacom is our provider. Will the Netgear Range Extender work for me at the same speed as the wired computer downstairs? And where shall the range extender be placed? Upstairs or downstairs? Closer to router or All-in-one? Thanks, Joanne

Yes it will work. If you get w high end one and your current router supports dual band it should be close to those speeds. The range extender should be in a spot with about 1 to 2 bars of service. Roughly where it starts to drop and it will take that wifi and repeat it
