A good modem just does its job. It is your interface to the cable company. You should not know it is there. It allows you to save the 5-10 dollars a month you would normally pay them (as if you don't pay them enough?). This modem works great.
I would recommend this to a friend!

What's great about it: it is simple to install and a breeze to use.
I replaced an on-board wireless card that did not operate in my computer's new location. This product worked well with minimal setup. Worth the price and then some.

Can Netgear Prosafe model GS605 be used as a wireless wi-fi router?

I need a wireless Wi-Fi router to be used on a Mi Box. Currently the internet service is provided by EarthLink and a Belkin.cf2 router is used for my desk top and lap top computers.
What other parts (such as 2.4GHz/5GHz dual Wi-Fi connection cable) do I need to complete the Mi Box set up?

Does the Linksys AC1200+ come with an internal modem?

No you would have to purchase a separate modem to make a connection to your cable company. I used the Motorola Surfboard 3.0 and it works fine for me. Simple hookup works good at a decent price.
