What's great about it: Allows you to have one ear open, comfortable around the neck.
What's not so great: Volume level and control.
I got this headset for one reason only, so that I can have one ear open to listen for traffic while I bike and jog outside. This is the best headset I have come across that fulfills the need to hear what is going on around you, while working out outside.
On the down side, the headset does not produce a high enough volume level, especially if you are only using one of the ear tips. In addition, the volume level controls do not work very well. With both my iPhone 5 and Lenovo PC, I cannot seem to lower the volume beyond a certain point. Overall, the headset just makes it difficult to reach a comfortable listening volume. I find that when I use this headset the volume seems to often be either too loud, or even more often, not loud enough.
I do have to mention that the headset is very comfortable around the neck, you barely notice it is there. In addition, being someone who usually hates in ear headsets, the ear tips on this headset are comfortable enough. I really could see myself using this headset more often, besides just for working out outside, if not for the volume issues.

Can this headset be used with a Sprint phone, for example, a Note 3, or is it solely for Verizon phones?

I do not see any reason why this headset could not be used by any Bluetooth compatible phone, regardless of carrier. The Note 3 of course has Bluetooth compatibility on it. So yes, this headset should work with your Note 3.
