Very convoluted and surprising plot - several seemingly completely unrelated items - listing them would be a spoiler - come together in a most remarkable way.

What's great about it: It just worked.
What's not so great: Nothing
I have an older desktop with a built-in cardreader. It will read SD memory cards, but not SDHC cards. Since I have some of each for my digital camera, this is a nuisance. An SDHC (or other) memory card plus into the side of this device, which then plugs into a USB port on the computer. The SDHC drive appears as an additional drive on the computer, just what I wanted.
I would recommend this to a friend!

What's great about it: No fuss to install, all cables included.
What's not so great: Nothing
Well, I just needed some more disk space. The drive was easy to install, as all the necessary screws and cables were included. The disk fit nicely into my computer case, I had all the parts needed, there were no jumbers to adjust, and the BIOS recognized the drive immediately. All I had to do was partition it, format, and install my operating system. As a bonus, the drive was on sale at the time I needed it!
I would recommend this to a friend!

I installed the memory card in the computer. Does not open - window pop - PLEASE INSERT INSERT A DISK INTO DRIVER G
How to insert into driver G?
You don't say what kind of card you are trying to read, so this is a guess. If you insert a memory card into the computer, and the computer does not recognize it as being there, that probably means the drive cannot read the card. In my case, my drive would read SD cards, but not SDHC cards; the Dynex card reader solved the problem. You could test this by seeing if your computer will read a plain SD card. If so, then try an SDHC card. The cards are normally labeled as to which kind they are. Anything over 2 GB will be an SDHC card. 2 GB cards can be either SD or SDHC, and should be labeled; cards less than 2 GB should be plain SD.
