I needed something fairly cheap and easy to replace as my storage needs grow but could still give me good performance. I decided to get this for storing media for streaming purposes. It has a transfer rate of about 100 mb/s to my wired primary desktop. It also works great as a storage drive for Plex, I am able to stream uncompressed 1080p movies wirelessly without any buffering.
I would recommend this to a friend!

I have owned a lot of different monitors. The design of these are amazing and are great to look at even when they are off. Once they come on the colors are nice and vibrant and there is zero lag when gaming. It is a way to get the glossy look on a monitor without that annoying glare. I have two of these on my desk now and only wish I had gotten them sooner. I was able to find them on sale at 250 but even 300 is still a good deal if you need large high quality monitors.

Can you use for wifi video stream?

Has anyone used the My Cloud for video streaming over wifi router? How does it perform?

I have used this with my Samsung smart tv and it works very well. I use Plex and stream wirelessly. The biggest factors will be whether your router has the bandwidth and if your receiving device is powerful enough to receive the data fast enough.

PC to MAC conversion

I currently have a PC laptop that is on the fritz and needs to be backed up. I am looking to eventually invest in a MacBook. Will I be able to access the stored data from both platforms?
As long as you just copy the data files over to the drive you will be fine. This drive is not affected by Operating system and can be read by anything from Windows to Mac to Linux. When backing up just make sure to copy the data files, do not create a backup image because that is only used to restore the computer after replacing a failed hard drive.
