Can I configure this unit as my primary router and use my AirPort Extreme (5th gen) as a repeater?
Hi - now that most of my devices have ac capabilities, and having heard good things about this router, I'm hoping that someone (more network savvy than myself) could help me in determining if I could use this router with my "old" (5th generation AirPort Extreme) used as repeader? I live in an apartment complex on the ground floor and would like to both boost my WiFi strength in the apartment (for a wireless connection to my TV) and to be able to receive a signal for those times when I take my notebook or tablet outside (no more than 30 feet away from my unit to the deck outside).
I don't know that I'm explaining this very well, but... Netgear in den, hard wired to a couple of devices and AirPort Extreme in bedroom to boost signal to wireless TV in bedroom and, some 30 feet away, the communal giant deck.
Do-able? Any other suggestions.

If you use the 2.5gHz band you may not need the secondary router as an extender. I use this to connect 30-40 feet away at the grill and listening to music

How wll this router work with FIOS?
Only way to get this router working with FiOS is to use Verizon's factory box, since they are a fiber network the only way to have access in your house is with the coax cable, there isn't a coax port on this router. Here, at least, is how that works. I use FiOS as well, the only way I can get it working. Verizon practically forces you to use their equipment

Do I have to have office 365? I will only be using this for websites, apps, games, music, etc......Do I have to use Microsoft store for apps?.

You do not have to buy 365 to use this, there are plenty of free alternatives. If you have office 2010 that can be loaded onto this as well. As for the apps, anything that you've already purchased from the windows store will still be available for you to use once it's downloaded. If you have anything that requires an instillation disk, you will need an optical drive.
