Is there a special plug or socket required To control the light bulb operation ?

No special plug or socket is needed! I have these bulbs in table lamps, ceiling fans, nightstand lamps, etc! If you don’t have the newest version of Amazon Echo Plus (with the hub built in) you will need to purchase the Hue hub (which I have because I have the older version).
