Connection and activation were easy to accomplish. The guide loaded more quickly than I expected. We have used it over a month now, and have enjoyed the recording of our shows. Our only problem is that the fan in the box started making noise a couple days ago. TIVO says "Go back to Best Buy and exchange it." Best Buy says "You are past the 15 days, so only TIVO can exchange it." Meanwhile..............

This was to replace the two units (modem and wifi router) I had purchased to use with my cable supplied internet. The old one would not handle the speeds of the new 300 mps internet. It now keeps up with the speed, but has the added benefit of the router that is much stronger than the individual router and amplifier I used before. My wife walks down into the garden to the back of our lot and still has use of her iPad (the Netgear is at the front of my house.)

This was easy to hook up and start up. I was coming from a Windows 7 system so the 8.1 took some getting used to. I quickly found how to go to the old-fashioned screen. It is quick and a perfect fit for a user like me. I do not run CADs or gaming software, so everything else seems to work in nanoseconds, which is all I need.

I decided I would rather have the mini than the iPad because it is my first tablet and I would not be using it for anything needing a larger screen. The only drawback I have found so far is that the top of the screen blocks out some critical parts of a couple games on Pogo.com (word whomp for one). That is not the fault of the mini, but a glitch only occurring in the pogo app. I am thinking of adding books to it, but have not been able to make myself move away from paperbacks yet. Good size and the memory is fine for me (I do not stream).

What's great about it: Versatility, print quality, setup.

I bought this model for a friend because mine has worked wonderfully for over a year now. It was easy to set up for her and she is thrilled to be sitting in her kitchen on her ipad and sending a recipe to the printer through the wi-fi. Reviews I read didn't like the lack of slots for SDHC cards, but I have never wanted to print from the memory chip, but rather from the memory on the PC, so it does not detract from the value for users like me.

I understand that TIVO was recently bought by another company whereby their customer service went to pot. Has this gotten any better in 2017?
No. My TIVO purchased through BestBuy started making fan noises two days ago. I called TIVO, who did not show my TIVO box on their computer. I even gave them my account information, including password, so they could access my activation account established when I hooked it up. I asked them for the address and procedure for sending back the box for a replacement, but they could not give me the address because I do not have an account with them (but how am I receiving TIVO services if I don't show up in their accounts?) They are moving the problem up the chain of bottom feeders through escalation, so I may hear something in the next few days. So far, it has been pretty frustrating trying to get a quiet replacement OTA TIVO for my nonexistent $399 one for which I have the receipt and lifetime service. Best Buy, of course, has their 15 day exchange policy, so I am beyond help there also.

does it record in other modes like lp spp sp slp
No. The size of the hard drive makes it big enough to record whatever you are wanting to record for hours and hours. The video tapes we used to use were determinate in length, so it was handy to use the long-play mode, etc., to make the most of your tape limitations of 1-2 hours. The Roamio has 1 Tb of memory, so you can record about 150 hours of high definition before getting close to full. Since I watch my recordings later in the same week, I will never approach the capacity of the machine.

The ADF - auto document feed - does not pick-up and feed the paper???
It says it is jammed - but there is nothing jammed in the printer. I tried all the online help tools. Any suggestions?
I ran into this same thing on my 6600, and found that the Xmas card glitter that my wife had printed on had fooled the printer into thinking it was jammed. A good cleaning and blowout fixed it. Chastising my wife did not!
