What's great about it: its like having an inexpensive insurance policy for screen protection.
What's not so great: following precise instructions may be hard for some.
Zagg shield comes with two protectors; giving you the choice of a spare screen cover or protecting both front and back of iPhone. The service department will apply the shield for nominal cost if you don't want to apply it yourself. The adhesive appears to stay attached even in the sun, water, and cold. Touch screens work just fine with this product. Check it out.

Is this screen protector supposed to extend over the edges?

Applying it wasn't a problem, but it sticks out about 1/4 inch on all 4 sides. Do I just trim it with scissors? I bought the one specifically for the LG G2. Any advice would be appreciated?
sounds as if you have the wrong size screen protector which should cover the LG G2 front without overlap. Take your phone to the Best Buy service department and they should be able to reattach the correct size without any trimming.
