It is such a cheap laptop, it would likely be easier and cheaper to simply replace it. All your settings are stored on google's servers, so a new laptop does not require any files or settings to be transferred. It just works.

That said, this is far more durable than my phone or macbook, largely to its very light weight and small size. Mine gets tossed around all the time with no ill effect other than some skuffs on the exterior plastic. A skin might not be a bad investment.

It has 2 GB of ram built in, but it cannot be upgraded. Typically, you cannot tell the difference. Think of it more like a phone with a large keyboard and screen.
