What's great about it: Easy setup, mobile access, management console

What's not so great: Speed/performance

Setup was a breeze. Adding shares and setting up users was easier than old seagate NAS. Mobile access works well. Access from Mac Finder can be slow. iTunes/twonky media server is not recognizing all songs. Overall good experience so far.

What's great about it: Easy to setup, good sound

What's not so great: Pricey like most Sonos components

I have the play 3 for medium sized rooms and wanted something portable for shop, office or more personal listening spaces. Success! As with other Sonos components, setup is easy. The sound is perfect for small spaces or complimentary to other speakers to extend a listening zone. The price point is a little high... Would think $50-75 cheaper is more appropriate... But got an open box deal so can't complain.

Tranfer music to iPad?

Will this work to transfer mp3 files to my iPad so I can play/see them in the music player?

You can access any file including mp3 thru the MyCloud app from anywhere in he world when connected to wifi or your carrier. You can also email a link to the file. You can listen to the file, however I don't think you can save it to your iPad library locally.
