If you need to check a hard drive, this is what you need. You can also copy one to the other.

Can't get my old ATA desktop drive to connect

Hello! I have an old Maxtor DiamondMax Plus 9 160GB ATA/133 HDD drive. I've tried putting it into this device, but I don't believe it's compatible, as it doesn't seem to fit. Any tips?
I believe the Maxtor diamond plus is an IDE drive and is not compatible.

does it come with everything you need to connect to a dell inspirion?

Yes it comes with a USB and an e-sata cable. Also its own power supply.
