This is my second harmony smart hub remote. They create a seamless way for all home theater devices to talk, and by adding the amazon echo its handsfree.

the remote no longer operates - will not turn on the TV - cable or receiver - was working perfectly & then just stopped - do I need to just replace?

Check the locations of the IR blaster and hub, if they are obstructed or got moved it could cause issues.

Can I program a button to "watch a movie" and it will know to turn on the tv, Xbox, and my stereo system all to the watch a movie settings?

Yes it will access all devices in the list for the activity chosen
