well a month later and everything in this drive is inaccessible. thank god its the backup of a backup so I'm just going to format it and see how it performs the following month but honestly I don't feel like I can trust it anymore

I bought this laptop for my GF and she loves it designwise. Its compact, its cool, its thin its light and its a 2in1. But i have seen her complain about performance issues and i have experienced them myself. For the specs i would say it is really underperforming by a lot, and not long ago i noticed that the track pad is all croocked as if it had sank inside the laptop in one of ots corners. Not even 1 month old and already going back to bestbuy to use that geek protection. I got it for that reason but i was expecting not to have to use it, at least not this fast.

It does what i bought it for and more! I needed this drive for copying CDs i made from live recordings and it does it perfectly, in fact i didnt have to download any burning software because it came with one. Plus all the things it does awesomely it also works as a dvd player if you connect it straight to your TV, havent used the feature but read about it. The reason it lost a star is because it uses miniUSB instead of microUSB and it is made of plastic.

This laptop's spec sheet was just remarkable and since i was in need of a laptop i had to have this one. Design and overall computer is awesome but i could not use it for more than 2 day straights before i had to reset it to factory settings. For some reason it would try to make an update and the next time i tried to boot it it would end up in a boot loop that where only one option seemed to work, yes it was reset to factory. The next day i didnt let it update anything but the next day when i booted it up again same boot loop so i really had no intentions of going through all that with a $1,200 computer. Went straight back to best buy. If they fixed its software i would have it again but not like that.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Is there a way to increase the size of the font for CC beyond the "large" setting? It is still difficult to read from a distance..
Pretty sure you can't but if you dont have vision problems or are using you vission corrector device, whichever it may be, and still cant see it, you chose the wrong size for that room. Keep in mind that TV sizes have an optimal viewing distance anything out of that range, be it closer or further, will give you a bad viewing experience.

Picture settiings
I would love for my picture settings to be as nice as the one on display in the store. What are the recommended settings? I've been trying to get them right for a week!
If youve tried to get the right for a week you probabbly already have set it to look as good as you would want. Display setting should be set to fit your oersinal preferences. But if you want to achieve resolution and color displays like the one on best buy's show room you have to keep in mind thatvthey have promotional material made specifically to work perfect with that specific TV, its designed to accent the TVs capabilities and they have the geek squad who can also perform a screen calibration for an additional cost that will enhance the picture but ibwould only recomment this with a 4k mid end TV or better.

why does hdtv only show black and white screen
Mine is working perfectly with all its colors. Check your HDMI cable, check the input port, check the output settings on the device you are trying to see and check the output port on that device as well. If not then check the piture settings on the TV. In any order you might want to check TV setting first if you think that is something someone mught have played with.

i WOULD LIKE TO KNOW IF THIS TV WORKS IN EUROPE (TENSION, SYSTEM...)
I dont think so as the power specs are 120v 60Hz 1.1A. Even though the power cord is detachable and you could find one that plugs in the EU i beleive the frquency (Hz) and the voltage (tension) are different in EU. But if you got and outlet that can output those specs i dont wee why itbwouldnt work.

This seems to be an older model, what would be comparible now?
I need a 40" TV with a repeating slide option, inexpensive
I dont know what you mean by repeating slide option but this TV is very much capable of delivering a good tv experience if you have in mind that its a 40" HDTV for a little bit less than $200. Honestly when i bought it i looked at it as a disposable tv but it has been well worth its money and more. I would compare it to a $300-$400 low end model like a vizio.

there doesn't seem to be an input on our xbox 360 for the hd cable
No input to plug in the hd cable. There is an HDMI, but nothing even close to being big enough for the Rocketfish HD cable.
This is not an HDMI cable, therefore it wont fit in the HDMI port. what you're looking for is a bigger port called the HD component port which in the Xbox 360 is located right over the HDMI port and its called A/V which are the letters right to it
