I purchased this because my other one broke and we usually leave the computer on all the time. It fits a 15.6 in laptop just fine anything bigger and it hangs off the edge. It comes with a USB cord that hooks up directly to the computer which is cool since i don't need a power supply. If your computer gets too hot then there is an option to purchase an AC adapter from Targus to give the fans (comes with 2 fans) more power. So far I've had my computer on all the time for about 2 months and it hasn't gotten hot so I haven't purchased it. It sts a bit loud but were ok with it since its keeping the computer cool all the time.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Since my last computer was replaced by the protection plan I went ahead and purchased it on this one. So far I haven't used it but read the terms and conditions before you purchase it since a lot of things have changed. I basically got it because I know what can go wrong with computers and don't want to deal with fixing it myself.

I purchased this because I was told that it was good for gaming. Boy were they wrong. I went home and set up Scrap mechanic and it crashed with in a few minutes. Then I went to install Photoshop and it did ok it was just slow. I finally installed Diabo 1,2,3 and it crashed. I was frustrated and saw that the graphics card was not very good.
Battery life on this on a full charge is about 3.5 to 4 hr if your just watching a movie. If your doing anything else just take your charger cus your going to need it.
NO optical drive. So if you burn anything this will not work for you
For some reason the display was blurry I thought it was my eyes but nop it was the display.
Overall very poor computer if you want to do anything that requires somewhat decent graphics and battery life.

So far so good. I had purchased another Hp laptop that I was told was going to be able to run Scrap Mechanic and Terratech but when I got home it kept on crashing. I went back to Best Buy and saw that this was on sale and picked it up. I'm not a Starwars fan at all but I saw that this has a dedicated graphics card and was willing to give it a shot. So far it has done very well with everything we are doing.
Programs we use: Microsoft office, Photoshop, Virtual DJ, Scrap Mechanic, TerraTech, Diablo 1,2,3 and Starcraft.

This was an awesome deal. I'm using this to store all of my pictures and movies. So far so good. I hooked it up to my router and it's working as a wireless hard drive. I can automatically download my pictures to it from my phone which makes my life so much easier. Overall I love this product.

Would this Hard Drive fit in my Sony Vaio Model No VPCEB11FM. My old hrd drive has gone bad.
If you go online the Sony Vaio Model No VPCEB11FM has a 320GB Serial ATA (SATA) hard drive when it came from the factory. I wouldn't see why this one wont work. You will need to the restore disk for this computer since your other hard drive doesn't work. I will see if Sony has these disk before purchasing the hard drive. At times they might not be able to get the disk for you and you might just need to purchase a new computer. Good Luck

will this fix my Toshiba L505-ES5018
Depending what is wrong with your computer. If your hard drive is bad then no this will not just fix it by you replacing the hard drive.You will need the drivers disk from Toshiba to be able to install it into the computer. If you have virus or if your computer is running funny but your hard drive is work fine (i.e turning on the computer components) then you might want to back up everything and do a system restore. If you have windows 8,8.1 or 10 you can do a full restore on it without any disk. If you have anything else you need to order them for Toshiba if you didn't create them before the issue happened. If you do a system restore and the computer is still acting funny then you need to trouble shoot the issue.

can i use this as a cloud storage or do i need to buy one that states cloud access I already have this one
does this come with the cloud base account--- and can I use this one as a cloud base storage ?

It will be easier if you purchased one that had the software already installed if your not too techsavy. If you know a little bit about computers and routers you might be able to use a router that has a USB on the back to set up a wireless hard drive. I have a Netgear router and was able to use the USB to set up my hard drive to access my files on any computer in the house. Good Luck.

Can I use this as a backup for pictures on my phone
I want to use this device not just to save files from my pc but also to save photos and videos from my Galaxy Note6. I do not want to pay for more cloud space with Verizon when I could use an external hard drive.
This is work wonderfully. You will be able to store everything you need. If you have a Bluetooth adapter on your computer you can actually send your pictures or videos directly to your hard drive via Bluetooth. Good Luck.
