Will it reach my basement?

Not exactly sure on the specific SQFT of my house but my router is in my dads office on the main floor. Our xbox is in the basement and has very low connection to the internet and I am hoping this will solve the problem. Are there any wires that need to be ran or how will this product work for my situation if at all?
