What's great about it: easy to install
What's not so great: expensive and black runs out too fast
easy to change but fairly pricy. can't use a double cartridge for black so it runs out a little quickly

Can this be used to back up data on two different MacBooks?

I would like to back up data on my MacBook Pro and my son's MacBook Air. Can I do that with just one unit (assuming of course I don't exceed 1TB)? Or do I need two of these?
Yes, I have used mine for three macs. You might want to set up a folder for each, but time machine will separate them, but you must download the software for the unit to each mac, with your macs, should be a walk in the park, using timemachine (((Or, as I did with my older G5 tower, you can transfer files via ethernet cable or wi-fi (use help function if you're not sure how) or through your router (I connected mine thru my router using the isp connection in network settings),))))

Mac & PC

I have a Mac that I use for editing and I want to download video files from my Mac and send the drive to another editor who uses a PC, will he be able to access the files and download to his PC?
check your video format- if not compatable- google for a program to that comverts your mac format to one readable by his pc- you're in software territory

Can this be used to access a HD removed from a MBP?

Does this open up to insert a HD?! I purchased it intending to back up files from my new MBP (10.10.4 running Yosemite) as well as access another HD from my previous MBP (10.6.8 running Snow Leopard). Awhile back I had a HD fail on a previous MBP of mine and I purchased an external HD to encase a new HD--I don't see that this one opens up though (to insert the HD)... or does it and I just can't figure it out?! THX
You probably want to buy a external hard drive case- I wouldn't try to switch out an external hard drive for another... I'm sure the local geek squad could transfer the files from your old hard drive to the new external unit for very little- fone your local store and ask

Is this machine large enough to wash a king sized comforter?

Is the Whirlpool - Closeout 3.8 Cu. Ft. 12-Cycle High-Efficiency Top-Loading Washer - White - Larger Front machine large enough to handle washing a full king sized comforter, bedspread or sleeping bag?
had no problems with an overly large queen size one

Does this washer have the old fashioned agitator in it?

I have the newer HE washer without the agitator and I hate it. Nothing gets clean. I'd like to go back to the old model so I was wondering if this is one of those.
no , but we have had no trouble getting clothes cleaner than with our old style washer. You do need to watch which detergents you use: 1st make sure they are right for your washer, and 2, beware of the cheaper ones.
