I highly recommend to upgrade to a wireless mouse and keyboard. I am very happy using a wireless keyboard and mouse. I can clear my desk off when needed so it is a great space saver.

I found the Bose Companion 2 Series a great upgrade for my computer. The sound quality is much better and clarity if very excellent!

What Model is the Mouse? Does the wheel spin freely?

Specs don't mention the model of the mouse. I love the simple Logitech M325 mouse I am using. My husband just bought a (different) keyboard/mouse combo and the wheel on the mouse it came with doesn't spin - it kind of roughly click-click-clicks along; not easy to quickly go from the top of a page down without having to use the scroll bar. Thanks.
The model of the mouse is M310. The wheel spins freely.
