I purchased the Brother - Mfc-j485dw Wireless All-in-one Printer as a gift for my student daughter and she loves it! Iam not surprised because I have owned several brother products over the years and all have performed as you would expect.
I would recommend this to a friend!

What's great about it: Set up was a Snap!
What's not so great: No complaints here!
We live in a three (3) story Condo. Our home office & wireless router are on the 1st Flr. Our Smart TV is on the 2nd Flr. We were'nt getting a strong enough signal upstairs so we could not watch any streaming content off the internet on the TV. We installed the Belkin Extender and now we have excellant signal strength and the Smart TV works great!

Is this player programmable? There are two outlets for speakers on the back, what is the third outlet for?
No, this unit is not programmable. The two outlets, outputs, are for line level audio out, and are not connected to speakers, but to an amplifier or A/V receiver, which is then connected to speakers. The third outlet, output, is a digital coax output, and then connected to an A/V receiver, which is then connected to speakers.
When in doubt, download the manual, which is readily available on the internet.

Will this work with my device?
I have a device without a built in wifi but it has a LAN connector. Can I use Belkin range extender to connect the device to work wirelessly?

Sorry, no . You will need first need a wireless router or a modem with a builtin wireless router, and then if you need more coverage you add an extender.

Will this work with my iPhone 5 acting as a hotspot/router?
We use an iPhone 5 (Verizon) as a hotspot for our wireless internet access since we live in a rural area. We get 3 bars of LTE with the phone sitting in our dining room (drops to 3G in other parts of the house) and our MacBooks find it if we are close but if we go to the back of the house they usually don't connect. We live in a small 1200 sq. ft. home but it is brick, has a tin roof and plaster walls. We just want to be able to connect to the iPhone with the Mac's and tablet anywhere in the house.

I am not that technical, but I believe that your connection to the internet, your hot spot, has to have a consistant & strong signal before any extender will work, If you are in a rural area you might consider internet via satellite, if its available in your area.
