I bought this tablet for use with Photoshop design. Its very responsive with no lag. The drawing field is plenty large enough for my use and the pen is very responsive. You can set up many shortcuts for all of the different apps you use but I only needed a few for photoshop. I definitely recommend this for anyone needing a good drawing tool for graphic arts software.

Do you have to have a pc to use this tablet? My daughter wants this for Christmas and I'm confused about how it actually works. Is it a tablet that works as an art pad or do you need to connect it to a laptop to fully use it?

Yes you need a computer to use this tablet. It connects via usb and can be used as a mouse trackpad or drawing tool with the pen feature. The pen acts like a mouse, but is very helpful for artists or graphic designers using apps like photoshop.
