The WD MyBook 3 Terabyte drive is an excellent choice for backing up your data. It has plenty of room for multiple backups of a typical computer. The speed when connecting to a USB 3.0 port make for much faster backups that using 2.0 USB ports. Simple to connect to your PC. It contains some basic backup software to backup your data.
The only drawback is some PC's may require downloading the SES Device driver at http://support.wdc.com/product/download.asp?level1=1&lang=en
Other than that it is an excellent choice for external backups and storage.
I would recommend this to a friend!

What's great about it: Works just as good as the rest.
Toshiba hard drives appear to be, in every way just as good as the other major brands. I have not had any issues with any of them that I have used in the past.
I would recommend this to a friend!

will this be compatible with my L775D?

My laptop will not start up and stays on a black screen where i can only see and move the cursor. All indicates that is the hard drive. Can i buy this one and replace the one in my laptop with this one? Thanks!
If you got that far your operating system has issues and not necessarily your hard drive (although that could be playing a part) This hard drive should work just fine for you, but you will need to reload your operating system.

Will this work on a toshiba satellite L305-S9538

I was wondering since the size seems the same
Yes this should work fine for you. The Size is not the important part it is the connections and type of drive it is. The satellite L305-S9538 has a Serial ATA (SATA) port in it and so does this drive.

Will it replace a 40gb Hitachi Travelstar?

Have old working IBM R40 computer but drive going bad and not enough stowage.
No your R40 uses an ATA drive which is not the same as a serial ATA. A Parrallel ATA or (PATA) drive is what you need. And because your system was around when 40, 60, and 80gb hard drives were the largest ones, there might be some minor issues with size limitation (as in the laptop may only recognize up to 40, 60, or 80 gb)

satellite p755-s5320
Since teh satellite p755-s5320 came with a 640gb HD this drive will work fine just a bit smaller than what you had.

Will this replace A305-S6843 hard drive?

There are two (2) 200 GB factory installed hard drives in my Toshiba A305-S6843 laptop. One, a 200 GB HDD/5400 rpm drive. The other, a 200 GB/4200 rpm Serial ATA-150 drive. What options are there for replacing and increasing capacity at the same time? Have hard drive issues and need to replace/recover asap.
Yes these drives should be a direct replacement. Make sure you have your recovery CD's to reload your OS and if you have information you wish to save make sure you back it up. Another option if your drive still works (but is acting up on you) is to mirror the old one to the new one then you don't need to go through the pain of reloading all your stuff.
