I wouldn't put any super expensive equipment on this surge protector, but for $10, it can't be beat.

I purchased this mouse since my kitchen table is made of glossy tiles. Regular mice never work on this type of surface so I had to buy this. I think it works very well on any surface that I use it on, even glass. If you don't need to work on a glass or glossy surface, I'm sure there are less expensive options, but if you do, this is a great option. I've used numerous wireless Logitech items in the past and I've never had a problem. Also, don't forget to make use of the side buttons and left-right on the scroll wheel. If you don't like the default functions, you can customize what they do by installing Set Point from the Logitech site. Enjoy!

Will this plug into an older home's two-prong outlet?

The plug has a ground so you would need a converter from 3 to 2-prongs.

How durable is it?

I haven't dropped this specific mouse yet, but I have dropped other Logitech mice and keyboards and they've always continued working.
