I can now easily & quickly upload photos & videos from my cell phone's camera with this handy adapter card! Just insert my micro SD card into the end of the adopter & slide it into the slot on my computer tower. It allows me to upload photos or videos to use on the internet, to edit videos with moviemaker too. It also has a small carry container that close tightly to keep it in. Stays clean & safe. Great product that's worth every penny.

what is meant by protectedc on memory card's

The card has a small lever toward the front edge on one side that can be pulled backward to lock the card. No memory losses that way. But you can't load to the card before sliding it forward again.
